The pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly will acquire the largest biopharmaceutical company focused on securing approval for 5-MeODMT as a drug that is currently in Phase III clinical trials and has been designated a breakthrough therapy by the FDA.
The deal is expected to be finalized this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AtaiBeckley is one of several companies poised to usher in this new era of psychedelics. The company, founded by German entrepreneur Christian Angermayer and backed by billionaire Peter Thiel, is developing drugs for treatment-resistant depression and social anxiety disorder. Its lead candidate, BPL-003, is a fast-acting nasal spray made from synthetic 5-MeO-DMT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In interim-phase studies, patients experienced significant improvements in depressive symptoms within two days of a single dose, with benefits lasting up to eight weeks. The drug also received Breakthrough Therapy designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now this great promise is about to fall into the hands of a pharmaceutical company whose interests are more commercial than a genuine concern for people's health<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GH Research Plc is developing a similar treatment and has not yet been acquired by a major pharmaceutical company, so there is still hope for them<\/p>\n\n\n\n
